This is probably the hottest bike news today!! Bajaj Auto is planning to launch a new Bajaj Pulsar 220cc with DTS-i (and not DTS-Fi) , some where around 23rd, June, 2009.
Bajaj is doing away with Fuel Injection to extract more bang from the 220cc mill and is claiming that it would be fastest Indian made bike ever built. Going by the performance figures and experience of the 2009 Bajaj Pulsar 180 and 150, I would say, the claimed figure of a real time clocked max of 140 kmph can be in the scenario.
But, for the torque figures which were the result of the Fi implementation would be a point to watch out for in the carbed version of the Pulsar 220. What's more interesting is, it's being said that the new Pulsar 220 would be tagged at Rs. 70K ex-showroom in Delhi, and going by that I would it's really gonna put the pressur to the existing Pulsar 200 range and also on the newly launched TVS Apache 180. A very smart move from Bajaj to take on it's arched rival!! :)
But till the tide hits the shore.... it's all calm and murky!!
