“When what you are deeply passionate about, what you can be best in the world at and what drives your economic engine come together, not only does your work move toward greatness, but so does your life. For, in the end, it is impossible to have a great life unless it is a meaningful life. And it is very difficult to have a meaningful life without meaningful work. Perhaps, then, you might gain that rare tranquility that comes from knowing that you’ve had a hand in creating something of intrinsic excellence that makes a contribution. Indeed, you might even gain that deepest of all satisfactions: knowing that your short time here on this earth has been well spent, and that it mattered.”

New Bajaj Discover 125 at Rs 52,002

Bajaj began pushing the ante this year first with the new Platina and CT 100, followed by the Pulsar trio which has managed to get them pretty satisfying numbers. They plugged the 100cc and the 150cc and higher segments but the biggest concern remained the 125cc segment where Bajaj has literally been kicked out of the show (more details here). As was expected, they have introduced the new Discover 125 to see if it can make any difference…
The company has recently updated its website with the ‘new’ Discover 125. This time the 124.66 cc engine produces 11 PS of power at 8,000 rpm and 10.8 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. Mated with a five gear transmission, the company claims that the bike has an internally tested top speed of 100 kmph. At a kerb weight of 120.5 kg, the motorcycle returns a CMVR.
The bike boasts of a 200 mm disc brake on the front wheel which is standard. Apart from that the new Discover 125 also gets a 35 watt DC head lamp which will prevent the lights from going dim when on low rpm. The bike will be available with snazzy decals on the fuel tank in ebony black with either deep red or blue decals. The fuel tank though is a smaller 8 litre unit.

The new Discover 125 is based on Bajaj’s older platform and if you compare the new Discover 125 with the more modern Disco 125 M, you will notice that the new bike sports a rather dated looking set of alloy wheels. The 125 M produces 0.5 PS of more power but loses out on the fuel efficiency front which has been pegged at 76 kmpl. The ‘M’ has optional petal disc brake upfront.

The new Discover 125 is available at a starting price of Rs 52,002 (ex-showroom, Delhi) which is just two bucks more than the 125M drum version. It will reach all markets by July and production has already started, however,Bajaj is yet to share an official announcement with the media.
