Seeing the growing demand for small capacity Adventure sport motorcycles, bike manufacturers are readying their 250cc Adventure sports to secure good share in this segment. If reports are to be believed, Kawasaki is working on a Z250 based adventure motorcycle. Likely to be named the 'Versys 250’; the bike is expected to go on sale in 2016. A new rendering of the Adventure bike has emerged online revealing the possible styling.
The Kawasaki Versys 250 will share platform with the Z250's diamond frame platform, while the styling of the bike is expected to be shared with the larger Versys 650 and 1000. Going by the rendering, it is visible that the bike will share features with larger Versys that includes twin headlamp setup, side fenders and comfortable seats. The rendered bike features an underbelly exhaust which might not be offered with the production spec model.
The new Kawasaki Versys 250 is expected to get features like Upside Down forks, new swingarm, taller windscreen, cushioned seats and others. Powering the Adventure Sport will be a 249cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, twin-cylinder engine. This engine will be tuned to offer over 30PS of power and close to 30Nm of torque. Power will be transferred to roads via a six-speed gearbox.
