“When what you are deeply passionate about, what you can be best in the world at and what drives your economic engine come together, not only does your work move toward greatness, but so does your life. For, in the end, it is impossible to have a great life unless it is a meaningful life. And it is very difficult to have a meaningful life without meaningful work. Perhaps, then, you might gain that rare tranquility that comes from knowing that you’ve had a hand in creating something of intrinsic excellence that makes a contribution. Indeed, you might even gain that deepest of all satisfactions: knowing that your short time here on this earth has been well spent, and that it mattered.”

Only registered bikes to move out of showrooms

Now, no new two-wheeler will be rolled out of showrooms without registration number. Any violation would invite punitive action, including seizure of the vehicle. Hence, if you are planning to buy a high speed or sports bike (220cc or more), then get the registration number printed in the front and rear side of your vehicle for hassle-free maiden journey.
Realizing that high speed motorcycles were the favourite of miscreants involved in chain\ purse snatching and other offences, the cops have asked automobile dealers to desist from rolling out vehicles from their showroom without registration number.
Allahabad SSP KS Emmanuel said, "Investigations into several such cases have pin-pointed the use of high-speed bikes sans number plates. If two-wheelers have proper registration number on both sides, it would help arrest the soaring graph of auto-thefts too."
He further maintained that police had seized two bikes without registration numbers in the last 24 hours and the owners were booked under the Motor Vehicle's Act. The owners were plying the bikes without registration plate for the last three months.
The SSP and RTO Anil Singh held a series of meetings with automobile dealers in the first week of August and asked them to upload owner's details on the booking date itself to enable issuance of registration number within 72 hours. The SSP also warned of punitive action against erring dealers.
The city has around 90 big and small showrooms dealing in two-wheelers and most of them had agreed to comply with the order.
Around 37 cases of chain snatching and 480 cases of auto-lifting have been reported in the past seven months.
