Vespa adds two new 150cc scooters to its India-lineup that, up till now, only had a couple of 125cc models. Known as the Vespa VXL and SXL, these scooters are quite identical, with only minor alterations in their body styles differentiating the two.
The VXL and SXL exude youthful and lively styling with a bunch of new design cues – from the new curvy body panels and one piece seats to the 11-inch front alloy wheel, broader tubeless tyres and the digital console with analogue speedo.
The new Vespa scooters are based on the same monocoque steel body and are powered by Piaggio’s new 150cc, 3-valve, single cylinder engine that produces a maximum power of 11.4bhp and 11.5Nm. The Italians will also pair these two new scooter body styles with the old 125cc engine.
The Vespa SXL is available in 5 colours – orange, matte black, white, matt red and azure blue, while the Vespa VXL is available in 6 colours – yellow, white, red, matt black, green and maze grey.
Oh, and did we forget to mention, Alessandro Del Piero, the global brand ambassador for Vespa, was in town for the launch too?
