MV Agusta has imported 10 units of the Brutale 1090, ahead of the Italian motorcycle brand’s official launch in November.
The MV Agusta Brutale 1090 is as attractive as its smaller sibling the Brutale 800, with mass forward design, all-muscle naked street character and tremendous road presence. The Brutale 1090 is powered by a 1078cc four-cylinder, four stroke, 16-valve unit that makes maximum power of over 145PS at 10,300rpm and peak torque of 112Nm. The other variant of the Brutale 1090, the Brutale 1090RR is capable of making over 160PS of power at 11,900rpm and 100Nm of torque at 10,100rpm.
According to latest import data, 10 units of MV Agusta Brutale 1090 have been imported ahead of the launch in November. MV Agusta has also launched one unit of the Brutale 800.
The company is expected to launch its products in a phased manner in India, with the Brutale 1090 brought in as completely built units (CBU). One unit of the Brutale 800 has also been imported, but it has been listed as “not for sale”, hinting that it may have been imported for homologation purposes. The Brutale 800 may be brought in at a later date as semi knocked down (SKD) units, so that pricing is competitive.

Internationally, the MV Agusta motorcycle range consists of the Brutale series (675,800 and 1090), Brutale 800 Dragster, Stradale 800, Turismo Veloce 800, Rivale 800, F3 (675, 800) and the F4. We sure hope to see some CKD and SKD options for India, particularly the 675 and 800 models, which may be the entry level MV Agustas in India.
