“When what you are deeply passionate about, what you can be best in the world at and what drives your economic engine come together, not only does your work move toward greatness, but so does your life. For, in the end, it is impossible to have a great life unless it is a meaningful life. And it is very difficult to have a meaningful life without meaningful work. Perhaps, then, you might gain that rare tranquility that comes from knowing that you’ve had a hand in creating something of intrinsic excellence that makes a contribution. Indeed, you might even gain that deepest of all satisfactions: knowing that your short time here on this earth has been well spent, and that it mattered.”

Mahindra Mojo launched

Without much fanfare, Mahindra Two Wheelers has launched its much-awaited touring-friendly 300cc motorcycle, the Mojo. Priced at Rs 1.58 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Mojo undercuts the KTM 390 Duke’s mouth-watering price tag of Rs 1.9 lakh (ex-Delhi).
At the recently concluded media ride, Mahindra top-brass informed TopGear that the Mojo wasn’t targeting the more performance-oriented Austrian’s overwhelming market response, but this introductory price will certainly give potential KTM buyers something to think about. However, the key word here is ‘introductory’, which implies that the retail price of the Mojo will go up in the future.
Noteworthy highlights of the quirky-looking Mojo are its commendable ride and handling characteristics, its big 21-litre fuel tank, and its stress-free 295cc, single-pot engine that delivers 27bhp and 30Nm of torque in a smooth, composed manner. The bike is of good build and of sound engineering. The tourer even has features like grippy Pirelli rubber, but its brakes could have been better.
Compared to the last two-wheeled offerings from Mahindra, its 300cc flagship features very little gimmickry – so no car-like flip keys or seat-height adjustment here. It’s a more sincere machine in its performance and in terms of its overall functioning.
Launched simultaneously in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Pune, the Mojo will be available in 10 dealerships in Phase 1. And can be had in three colour schemes – Glacier White, Charcoal Black, and Volcano Red. If you’re hooked onto the Mojo and are willing to shell out this kind of money, then you have time only till this Diwali, post which there would be a price revision.
Okay, don’t sprint to your nearest Mahindra dealership just yet as it plans to commence online bookings starting October 16.
