“When what you are deeply passionate about, what you can be best in the world at and what drives your economic engine come together, not only does your work move toward greatness, but so does your life. For, in the end, it is impossible to have a great life unless it is a meaningful life. And it is very difficult to have a meaningful life without meaningful work. Perhaps, then, you might gain that rare tranquility that comes from knowing that you’ve had a hand in creating something of intrinsic excellence that makes a contribution. Indeed, you might even gain that deepest of all satisfactions: knowing that your short time here on this earth has been well spent, and that it mattered.”

EICMA: KTM 1290 Super Duke GT

Always considered among the most versatile naked currently on the market, capable of riding (very fast) on the track as well as being equipped with both windshield and luggage. This is why KTM specialists contemplate this second possibility, giving birth to the Super Duke GT, a tourer bike derived from the naked model powered with a 180 hp engine. Both bikes originate from the same source, but then the GT model showed a greater aptitude for travel, drawing technical solutions which KTM had already tested on the Super Adventure. Among them are: the Cruise Control and the Hill Hold Control system, which allows easy uphill starting. To adapt the engine for different usage, the Mattinghofen technicians arranged the heads and the combustion chamber, to smoother the torque output. The Super Duke GT is suitable to set luggage (racks are integrated and the discharger is lower), and focused on both the rider and passenger’s comfort. They can therefore count on wider saddles, larger fuel tank (to improve the pilot’s knees protection) and windshield, adjustable on 8 keyless positions. The technological equipment is very prestigious. It includes the semi-active WP suspension system (already tested with excellent results on the Super Adventure Model)), the quick shifter, three riding modes (Sport, Street, Rain), which manage the engine, the Traction Control and the ABS, this including the Supermoto mode, which turns the system off on the rear wheel.
