MV AGUSTA has just presented its updated Brutale 800 at the Eicma show in Milan.
Although MV gave us a full reveal of the 2016 Brutale 800 in a video last week, until now it hasn't given us any facts or figures.
The new Euro4 compliant engine makes a claimed 116hp at 11,500rpm. Claimed torque has risen by 25%, and MV says the Brutale 800 now makes 61 lb/ft at 7,600rpm. It hasn't gone into any more detail than that so at the moment, so compared to the old engine, we we don't know what's been worked on to give that increase in torque.
The 800’s slipper clutch is now hydraulically operated. Gear changes are handled by MV’s electronic quick-shifter, which works going up and down the ’box.
The bike still uses MV’s MVICS electronics package that includes a ride-by-wire throttle and eight setting traction control system.
MV is calling the new Brutale 800 ‘the most beautiful Brutale ever’, and says it’s ‘more muscular and streamlined’, courtesy of a more sculpted tank and seat unit. The plastic panels at the side of the radiator have been restyled too.
