Vimal SUMBLY, MD Triumph Motorcycles (India) Pvt Ltd, today, July 25, 2017, personally launched the new Tiger Explorer. Let me give you the most important piece of information first: it was launched at an ex-showroom price of 18,75L. That is like US$29112. Just to let you know, they are overbooked with pre-orders even before the bike was launched. How is that to look glum. Well Triumph is doing the basics right.
To begin with Triumph is doing 90% CKD from their Manesar facility. Secondly, this Tiger comes exactly with European specs. Once bitten twice shy they say. Old times axioms stick it seems. They have also noticed the fact that East India is registering strong sales. Hence they have two major outlets there, Calcutta, (yes I am old fashioned, it never hurt me) and Bhubaneswar. They are also beginning to move to tier II cities which is a big change from every "big bike" manufacturer out there!
Another first from Triumph: they are the first manufacturer to give experiential riding with a coach. Yes, it is not just take a bike and ride. They teach you over a programme what it is to ride a big bike, handling, braking, leaning, going off-road, touring over a long ride and so on. For more details on learning this programme, please touch base with your nearest Triumph dealer. You are sure to make large strides in motorcycling if you do that.
Okay, now about this new release... what do they have new? As Vimal Sumbly said, "It is a whole new bike!"
The new Triumph Explorer XCx is designed to excel off-road.
The new Tiger Explorer’s overall performance is given a new level of
dynamism through the use of WP adjustable suspension on the two entry level
models. The other four models feature
the ground-breaking Triumph Semi Active Suspension system. This allows the
rider to electronically control the adjustment of the front and rear suspension
damping, automatically adapting the rear shock absorber pre-load settings to
reflect the terrain being covered and providing optimal grip and drive in any
situation.
